In the post-pandemic era, as the world gradually resumes previous patterns of interaction and collaboration, international connections have become more critical than ever. Recognizing the value of cross-border academic and industrial exchanges, our college has actively engaged in global partnerships, striving to advance academic research, talent cultivation, and comprehensive internationalization, yielding remarkable results.
In 2024, we welcomed delegations from multiple countries, including the Vice Mayor of Da Nang City, representatives from Dong Nai Province in Vietnam, a student delegation from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in the Netherlands, and officials from the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office in Taipei. Additionally, visits from esteemed institutions such as Japan’s Ritsumeikan University, Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, and Science Tokyo professors have further strengthened our collaborations with Japanese higher education institutions. Discussions with Turkey’s Sabancı University laid the foundation for advancing dual degree programs. These activities have not only facilitated cultural exchanges but also created new opportunities for academic research and educational cooperation.
Our college has also proactively dispatched delegations abroad to deepen international collaborations. We visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam to engage in meaningful discussions with local academic institutions and industries. In Malaysia, we met with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Malaya (UM), and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) to explore opportunities for talent development and research partnerships. Furthermore, our trip to India included extensive cooperation discussions with the Indian Institutes of Technology, Delhi (IITD) and Kanpur (IITK), focusing on dual (joint) doctoral degree programs and bilateral research proposals, yielding significant outcomes.
In the area of industry-academia collaboration, we have actively reached out to domestic and international industry partners to integrate industrial applications with academic research. Visits from Japan’s Kyushu Asia Management School (KAIL) and the Tohoku Economic Federation enhanced our interactions with Japanese enterprises. Dialogues with Thailand’s NTP Semiconductor explored collaborative opportunities in semiconductor technologies, while discussions with the Vietnam Association of Mechanical Industry highlighted our commitment to practical applications and regional industrial development. These initiatives not only strengthened industry-academia partnerships but also provided students with greater exposure to international practices.
This series of efforts demonstrates our unwavering commitment to advancing internationalization in the post-pandemic era. We firmly believe that through cross-border collaborations and resource sharing, we can continuously enhance the depth and breadth of academic research, nurture globally competitive talent, and contribute to global prosperity and sustainable development. Looking ahead, we will maintain an open and inclusive approach to deepen academic, industrial, and cultural connections worldwide, writing a new chapter in ICST’s and the world’s collective progress.
