I. Objective:
The purpose of the event is to hold an open call where students of the International College of Semiconductor Technology will submit a thematic logo design that can represent the overall spirit of the Semiconductor College, and use it as the identifying symbol when promoting college activities.

III. Application information:
A. Eligibility:
- Student at the International College of Semiconductor Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University.
- Participating students must be matriculated at the College during the first semester of the 2022 academic year.
B. Application time: From the date of announcement until December 5th , 2022. Late applications will not be accepted.
C. LOGO Design conditions
- The LOGO should be concise, powerful and creative, and can be widely used to promote college events.
- LOGO design should be capable of being enlarged or reduced with ease, suitable for posters, brochures, flyers and web pages.
- LOGO must be created digitally, hand-drawn designs are not accepted
IV. Design specifications:
Entries must be created digitally on a computer and submitted in accordance with the following regulations:
- Visual design of 1024 px × 768 px, created with vector graphics software such as Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW, saved as a .ai file format in CMYK mode, as well as in a .jpg file format, with a file resolution of no less than 300 pixels/inch. Please also save the file name under the contestant’s name (for example projectname-studentID-studentnameLOGO.ai, projectname-studentID-studentnameLOGO.jpg). Contestants should avoid distortion of the original design when converting it into electronic files.
- Works shall include both color and monochrome outputs.
- The work description must be filled out clearly and in detail using Attachment 3 on a computer. The description is limited to 300 words in standard 12-point font, with standard kerning.
- Entries must not include markings that can identify individuals, companies, or groups, such as watermarks, names, chop seals, code names, etc., which violate the fairness of the selection process. Those who violate the regulations will be disqualified.
- Submitted works that do not meet the specifications, have an incomplete application, or violate the open call regulations will be deemed unqualified and will not be included in the selection.
V. Selection process：
- Submission deadline: From the announcement date until December 5th , 2022. Late entries will not be accepted.
- Each participant can submit 1 design at most. Violators will be disqualified. Submission information is as follows:
- Attachment 1 – Application Form. Attachment 2 – Description of the Work. Attachment 3 – Copyright Transfer Consent Form. Attachment 4 – LOGO Design. Please download these attachments from ICST website, https://icst.nycu.edu.tw/ .
- Physical files of Attachments 1 to 4 must be printed on A4-sized paper, fastened with a binder clip on the left side (without stapling) in 3 copies. The electronic files of Attachments 1 to 4 must be compressed into 1 RAR or ZIP file limited to 10 MB, and uploaded to the cloud link:https://forms.gle/Ghcnmn2ZG3vaxk2P6
- Please use the formatting “WorkName-StudentID-StudentName” in the file name.
- The winning design will be announced on the official International College of Semiconductor Technology website before December 20, 2022 (https://www.icst.nycu.edu.tw), as well as through notification by email. VI. Selection method:
Experts, scholars, and practitioners are invited to form a selection team. A special award, an excellence award, and a popular award will be selected. Selection guidelines include:
- Corresponds with thematic expression (50%)
- Creativity (20%)
- Visual effects and aesthetics (30%)
VII. Category and awards: (If submissions do not meet the expectations, the selection team may decide whether or not to accept the vacancy or insufficient quota)
- Special award: NT$5,000 prize and a certificate of merit.
- Excellence award: NT$3,000 prize and a certificate of merit.
- Popular award: Teachers and students of the school will cast votes. The highest number of votes will receive NT$2,000 and a certificate of merit.
VIII. Disclaimer:
- The relevant fees arising from participation in the activity shall be borne by the contestants, and not be paid separately.
- Contestants should ensure that their entries meet the specifications, and have not been published or awarded in other competitions or events.
- Submissions and application forms will not be returned. Contestants must ensure that the works do not infringe upon the copyrights of others. If a third party claims to have been infringed, the participants shall be responsible for the relevant losses and bear the relevant legal responsibilities. The organizer will not be responsible and reserves the right to disqualify the selected and awarded contestant, and will recover the prize and awards.
- The rights of the winning design will be transferred to the International College of Semiconductor Technology, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University for on and off-campus use. Please refer to the attached [Copyright Transfer Consent Form] for details.
- The winning contestant must complete the follow-up matters of the LOGO competition: retouching, revisions, corrections, and related matters carried out per the needs of the organizer.
- If entries do not meet the requirements or standards of the organizer, the organizer reserves the right to change the number of awardees or vacate the award.
- Organizer will make a separate announcement regarding any unresolved matters. Please read the above application description carefully. Submission of the application and design to this open call means the applicant agrees to the relevant provisions of the described content of the application, and the subsidiary regulations announced by the organizer separately.
※ If the event cannot be carried out for any reason, the organizer reserves the right to amend, suspend or terminate the event at any time. In addition, the organizer reserves the right to revise the description of this document and has the right to interpret and adjudicate all matters of this event.
