The Joint-Master Degree Program between ICST and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR), India
Program Duration
According to the Joint-Master Degree Program (JMD) Agreement signed between IIT Roorkee and ICST, NYCU. The minimum study duration at NYCU or IITR is 12 months, accumulative.
Eligibility
International students who meet both of the following requirements are eligible to apply:
- Nomination by home institution; maximum 5 students per academic year
- Meet the admission requirements at host institution

Under the Title: Application for IITR JMD_Name. - After all documents are reviewed and accepted with the College, ICST will send “Confirmation Letter” to applicants.

Students with the Confirmation Letter to IITR JMD Program can submit online application on the website of Office of International affairs at NYCU (OIA)- Please apply through the website of OIA.

- Upload all document to our online application system before the specified deadline. Late and incomplete application will not be considered.

Degree/Course Requirement
- NYCU as the Host Institution
- Students are required to register at NYCU in this program for at least two semesters.
- The Master candidates must spend at least six (6) months (accumulated) of the research project at each of the two institutions.
- The Master candidate shall have completed at least one (1) semesters of study in NYCU prior to starting to study in the host institution.
- Students are required to complete at least one third (1/3; at least 8 credits) of the master graduation credits in NYCU, the other one third (1/3; at least 8 credits) in the host university and the left one third (1/3; at least 8 credits) be admitted by both universities.
- The whole study period shall not exceed four (4) years.
- Students must pass the oral defense and Master thesis review.
- Students must meet other rules and regulations regarding conferment of degree of the institution and department.
- IITR as the Host Institution
- Students are required to register at IITR in this program for at least one semester.
- The Master candidates must spend at least one (1) semesters (accumulated) of the research project at each of the two institutions.
- The Master candidate shall have completed at least 1 semesters of study in IITR prior to starting to study in the host institution.
- The whole study period shall not exceed three (3) years for M Tech course.
- The JMD students must earn 36 credits in total (including professional courses、project、seminar and dissertation) from IITR to get Master degree.
- Students must pass the oral defense and Master thesis review either at NYCU or at IITR under a joint organized thesis committee from two institutions.
- Students must meet other rules and regulations regarding conferment of degree of the institution and department.
