[International Semiconductor Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program)]

Introduction
The Ministry of Education (MOE) of Taiwan will launch the “International Semiconductor Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program)” for talents coming to Taiwan for study and employment after graduation. This program integrates government, industry, and university resources to expand the recruitment of International superior industrial talent students. NYCU will first target students from Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India, Malaysia from Fall 2024.

Degree: Master of Science (MSc degree)
Application Qualifications
The students who graduated from public or private colleges / universities registered with the Ministry of Education or from overseas colleges/ universities that meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education, and receive a bachelor’s degree or new graduates.

Curriculum

  • Graduation credits requirement: At least 24 credits. (Does not include language-related courses)
  • Required core course 12 credits.
  • Thesis: to be taken in two semesters.

  • The details not specified hereunder will be subject to the “Regulations of Master Program” of the College.

Scholarship

Scholarships
(offered by National Development Fund, Executive Yuan)
  • Administrative expenses for initial arrival in Taiwan (with attached receipts for reimbursement): one-time subsidy with a maximum of NT$10,000, covering pre-arrival health check fees, visa fees, and document verification fees.

  • One-way flight ticket to Taiwan (with attached receipts for reimbursement): one-time subsidy with a maximum of NT$9,000, based on the most direct economy class one-way ticket.

  • Tuition and miscellaneous fees: subsidized for up to 2 years, with a maximum of NT$50,000 per semester. In the second year, students must achieve at least A2 level in both listening and reading sections of the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL), and upon review of academic performance and evaluations from partner companies, top of students will be eligible for tuition and miscellaneous fee subsidies.

  • Living Allowance
    (offered by cooperating companies)
  • Contracted students will receive NT$10,000 per month during the first year of study, with the second-year subsidy upon approval from partner companies.

  • 2 months of summer internship is required. (paid)

  • Partner companies for this academic year: Micron Technology, Inc. and PHISON Electronics Corp.
    1. Students receiving the INTENSE Program scholarship are obligated to work in Taiwan for a specified period after graduation. For instance, those receiving a scholarship for 2 years are required to fulfill a 2-year employment obligation with the contracting company.

    2. Detailed regulations regarding the above scholarships, like repayment principles, will be specified in a separate contract signed after admission.
